When to Visit Venice

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Samuel Brice Hall is the director of investor relations at Piedmont Private Equity, LLC, where he has worked since 2011. In his free time, Samuel Brice Hall fosters a love for all things Italian and has spent several weeks in Venice

Venice has long been a popular tourist destination. As a result, it is often crowded and expensive. According to U.S. News & World Report, the best time to visit Venice is from September to November, when most of the tourists have departed and the hotel rates are lower. Temperatures can be unpredictable, ranging from the upper 30s to the mid-70s, but are manageable, as long as visitors wear layers as needed.

June through August sees the biggest increase in tourists, as well as the hottest temperatures. Winter, from December through February, is the coldest time of year with temperatures between 30 and 40 degrees. However, this period also offers the lowest hotel rates with the exception of the beginning of Carnaval, one of Venice’s main attractions. Temperatures are higher from March through May, but many top attractions may still be closed from their winter hiatus.

Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land's Pollinator Project

The recipient of a master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina, Samuel Brice Hall is an experienced financial services professional who has served as director of investor relations with Piedmont Private Equity in Atlanta, Georgia, since 2011. In addition to his professional pursuits, Samuel Brice Hall is a member of the Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land (STPAL).

Founded in 2012 as a means of creating new public parks, STPAL has since conserved and come into ownership of more than 10,000 acres of property spanning Southeast Georgia, Northwest North Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. In an effort to diversify the wildlife habitat of those lands, STPAL launched the Pollinator Project, which specifically works toward increasing the bee and butterfly population.

Pollinators like bees and butterflies are responsible for aiding the growth of more than 80 percent of Earth's flowering plants, yet they are suffering from rapid population decline due to the use of pesticides and the growth of commodity-crop farming as an alternative to prairies and natural fields. With the help of the University of Georgia's Odum Institute of Technology, STPAL has created pollinator gardens at more than a dozen STPAL properties as well as locations such as the Atlanta Girls School, North Cobb High School, and Camp Kiwanis.
